Curt and Kristi Steffen of Crofton, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Steffen, to Seth Wiebelhaus, son of Tom and Ruth Wiebelhaus of Fordyce.
Steffen was a 2018 graduate of Crofton High School. She will graduate from Mount Marty University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Wiebelhaus was a 2018 graduate of Cedar Catholic High School. He will graduate from Mount Marty University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.
The couple has planned a June 4, 2022 wedding at St. Rose of Lima
Catholic Church in Crofton.

Three of Crofton’s Varsity track athletes qualified to compete in the Nebraska Track and Field Festival at Papillion Lavista South High School on April 19.
Sophomore Jordyn Arens qualified in three different events which included the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter run. Arens was able to place second in the 800 and 3200 with times of 2:25.20 and 11:28.52 respectively. In the 1600m she got third place with a time of 5:23.74.
Seniors Jayden Jordan and Mayson Ostermeyer both qualified for pole vault. Jordan placed sixth with a height of 10’ which ties her own school record, and Ostermeyer was able to grab third place with a height of 13’6.

The Niobrara-Verdigre Cougars and junior varsity golf teams participated in a triangular with Stuart and Summerland last week, with the Cougars finishing in third in the field only by five strokes, trailing Stuart’s varsity 193 first-place finish, and Summerland’s 203.

The family of David and Darlene Ausdemore has requested a card shower in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary on April 29. The family said they “were dealt the cards of their lives on April 29th, 1972, and the two have been playing cards ever since.”Cards will reach the Ausdemores at 119 Tooty’s Ave., Yankton, S.D. 57078.

Crofton’s Easter Candy Run was held Saturday, April 16, in Crofton’s North City Park. Over 225 patrons attended while ages 0-4th grade toted Easter baskets of candy and signed up for door prizes, with 23 winners! To learn more, get your copy of the Crofton Journal!
