Plainview’s FCCLA chapter met Monday, November 4th., for their Annual Food Pantry Drive. Members divided into groups and selected different areas of Plainview to ask residents for donations of non-perishable food items. Members spent an hour driving throughout Plainview collecting donations for our local Food Pantry. When returning, members counted the items for documentation for their state record keeping. Members were excited to find out that they had collected right at 350 items. “Members want to thank the community for their gracious contributions. With these donations, families in our community will continue to have their needs met," stated FCCLA adviser Ronita Jacobsen.
FCCLA Members will be delivering the items to the Plainview Food Pantry in time for Thanksgiving needs.
The night concluded with members holding their monthly meeting. The first topics was the Red Cross Blood Drive which is Tuesday, November 19, from 9am to 3pm at Plainview High School. Members also discussed the Mindbending Conference in Kearney on November 11th in which four members would be attending. Members were reminded to set appointments to meet with Mrs. Jacobsen to write their Power of One goals and to work on their STAR Projects.
