On Thursday, December 19th Plainview High School held their annual 7-12 Christmas Program.
The evening began with the prelude being played by Bastion Curtiss and Weston Hoffman before the recently formed Pirate Jazz Band played “Jammin' with Charlie” which featured soloists Emma Sauser and Weston Hoffman followed by “Uncle Milo’s Side Show”.
The new jazz band consists of saxophonists Emma Sauser, Kinley Hodson, Jaden May, and Natalee Gatz. Trombones Bastion Curtiss, Lucea Miller, and Landon Hergert. Trumpets Addie Hodson, Kara Lingenfelter, and Pressley Alexander. With the jazz rhythm section consisting of Jaren Hergert, Weston Hoffman, and Jameson Dobler.
The junior high choir was up next, performing “Somewhere In My Memory”, “Like It’s Christmas” and “Once Upon a December”, featuring soloist Nextly Jinez.
The Pirate Band then performed “Yo Christmas Tree”, “Angels in the Bleak Midwinter”, and “Are You Sleeping?”
The high school choir then sang “Glow”, the Christmas classic “Silver Bells”, and finally “Mary Did You Know?” which featured soloists Aiden Hamilton and Autumn Forbes.
The high school 7-12 choir then concluded the night with a performance of “Carry the Light” which featured a duet by Meleah Buck and Lucea Miller.
