Following an application period and recording submission, the Plainview Pirate Band has been selected for a performance in Lincoln at the “Capitol Concert Series.”
On March 24, the band will travel to the State Capitol in Lincoln and give a noon performance in the 2nd floor rotunda.
The concert series features Nebraska student musicians performing for the public and Capitol staff over a series of noon hours from January through April.
The Pirate Band was asked to audition and submit their recordings to be reviewed before they were selected.
The Pirates join other bands and musicians like: Seward Wind Ensemble, Elkhorn South High Mixed Choir, Kearney High School Clarinet and String Quartet, Norfolk 8th Grade Jazz Band.
Upcoming performances include the Pirates on March 24, joined by the Hastings High School Chamber Orchestra; and additional performances through April 9 include special groups, the Wesleyan Gold Standard Singers and other high schools and elementary students.
The Pirate Band is under the direction of Wynter Fulsaas.
