Pirate Bowling hosts Columbus

The Pirates traveled down to King’s Lanes to take on the Norfolk Catholic/Lutheran High Northeast Knights on January 28 in Norfolk.

The Pirates were again down one bowler and would not be able to have a match, so again a friendly scrimmage for the Pirates. Pirates are now 0-16 on the season.

The Lady Pirates face off with the Lady Knights with the first game going to the Knights 6-2 with a final score of 542-410.

The Lady Pirates tried their best to winning the four points to force bakers’ games to decide the victor, but the game was not to be losing 441-481 to the Lady Knights losing points 5-3. This means that the Lady Knights have won the duel 11-5, and the mercy rule takes affect which leads to only one baker’s game. The Lady Knights won that 95-71 too, which means the final score of 16-5 in favor of the Lady Knights.

Lady Pirates are 0-15 on the season.

Winning points in the first game was Natalee Gatz and Nyome Harding. High score was Lucea Miller with a 124 and Nyome with a 119. Joining Gatz and Harding in the second game was Miller taking her point as well for 3 points in the second game. High score was Harding with a 130 and Miller with a 128.

Pirate faced off with Columbus Lakeview Vikings on January 31 at Main Street Lanes in Osmond.

Well, the one of the bowlers transferred out the week before so the team did not have a third bowler. The match against Columbus Lakeview Vikings was a friendly scrimmage to finish the season so the Pirate are now 0-17.

For the next week at districts, Coach Risinger had a bad feeling, and with the school, reached out to the NSAA see if the two remaining Pirates could bowl to try to reach state in singles and will forfeit the team side of the competitions, which was allowed.

Onto the Lady Pirates, they were only bowling with three because one of the ladies had another event to go and she made the tryout so Coach Risinger understood for her missing the duel.

Columbus Lakeview was the same with two of the Lady Vikings for the same reason so both teams were out one of their teams’ best bowlers.

The first game was won by the Lady Viking 615-334, but the Lady Pirates were able to take one of the points. The second game was more of the same with similar results 553-273, with the Lady Pirates taking one of the points. After two game the score is 14-2, in favor of the Lady Vikings, but there was still five points for the baker’s that need to be awarded.

The Lady Viking won that as well with a 121-46. Final score of 19-2 for the Lady Vikings. Lady Pirates finish the season with a record of 0-16.

High scores for the Lady Pirates were Nyome Harding with a 130 and a 104 in the first and second games respectfully. Helping with high score was Autumn Forbes with a 109 in the first game. Winning her points in the regular games was Nyome taking her point in each game.
