With the completion of the 2024-25 winter sports season now weeks in the past, it’s nearly time for the Plainview Pirates boys golf team to officially kick off their 2025 season.
After they failed to send any golfers to state in 2024, the Pirates are looking to turn things around this season with four returning golfers and some fresh talent added to the roster
Returning for the Pirates as members of last year’s team are Isaac Harder, Zach Frahm, Colt Kromarek, and Guy Wortman.
Joining the quartet of returners are junior Trindan Ziems, sophomore Blake Foster, and Freshmen Beau Krause, Jaxon Jelinek, and Cody Hoffman.
“We are a young team that has the ability to be tough as we gain experience throughout the season,” said Adam Yilk, head coach of the Plainview Pirates. “I look forward to seeing what the sophomores bring to the table as they are in the second year of varsity competition. Finding consistency in our one through five golfers will be important to helping us achieve our goals.”
Yilk and his group of Pirate golfers are now nearing the end of the offseason and are geared up for the start of the 2025 regular season, which will begin on Monday, April 7 with a quadrangular against Creighton, Hartington/Newcastle, and Osmond in Creighton.
