Luke and Jodie Altwine of Plainview have announced their building purchase and intention to open a new hardware store in downtown Plainview – “Altwine Hardware & Home.”

The Altwines purchased the south building of Hoffart Repair, located at 111 S. Main in downtown Plainview, and have contracted with Orgill distribution, the same company that supplies Bomgaars, to provide hardware store products to the Plainview community.
The Altwines are currently in the process of renovating and upgrading the building to make the space usable for their planned 1,680 square feet of retail space, and hope to be open in early summer of 2023.

As of this week, the Altwines said they are intending to carry plumbing, electrical, paint and sundries, fasteners, hand and yard tools and lawn and garden products – and hopefully more in the future.

“Our goal is providing services, merchandise and jobs in Plainview,” said the Altwines. “We have called this town our home for many years and love the small town!  We are excited to bring a hardware store, services and jobs to Plainview.”

Luke and Jodie Altwine live in Plainview and have three children: Madison and Rylee Altwine and Jayline Johnson. She has lived in Plainview since 2003 and is a Realtor with Rely Real Estate and serves all of northeast Nebraska; and he has lived in Plainview since 2017, and is a parts and service manager with Bobcat of Norfolk.
