A widespread aurora borealis was visible on Monday evening and into early Tuesday

This year's Junior Fire Patrol class of fifth-graders graduated last Tuesday evening, with Preston Doerr taking this year's Chief title, and Raiden Gillespie named Assistant Chief.

Senior at Plainview High School, Leighton Medina, son of Brandi Alexander of Plainview, and the late Armand Felipe Medina, was recently named to the 2022-23 Believers and Achievers listing by the NSAA, receiving his award during the halftime break of the Class B State Basketball Championship game.
