Mosel signs with York York College announced over the weekend that Plainview High School's Keagan Mosel has officially signed to wrestle for the Panthers next season. Mosel won second-place in the State tournament this year, broke 100 wins this past season, and was a qualifier for the Pirates in previous years. The release at York College's social media pages said that he would be wrestling at 141 for the Panthers. Mosel is the son of David and Lonna Mosel of Plainview.

Pirate Boys Basketball plays final games The Plainview Pirate Boys' basketball team ended their season on February 22, with a loss to the Crofton Warriors at Hartington Cedar Catholic high school in the SubDistrict C2-5 bracket. The Pirates came off a win on February 15 over Hartington-Newcastle, 66-60; suffered a loss to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, 73-26 and lost in the SubDistrict tournament bracket to Crofton, 40-31. With the loss, the Pirates reported a 6-18 season this year.

Cooper Grants awarded to Plainview groups The Jim B. and Lillian F. Cooper Foundation, along with Midwest Bank, has announced the grants given this past year to very deserving organizations in local communities, including two to Plainview. In Plainview for 2020, Plainview High School received $1,500 towards a greenhouse for the FFA chapter; and the Plainview Manor received $1,200 for a slushy machine.
